A day as a start up-founder and COO…
It’s never the same. With a small team, everyone has to be flexible and willing to do whatever is best for the business. Often that means stepping outside your comfort zone and doing things you have never done before, and figuring it out as you go.

This fall we are adding exciting new features to our website, as well as improving our current functionality to support increased demand as more and more women learn about TopShelf Clothes. Therefore, we have been spending some days focused purely on the product. Other days we are out there meeting with investors, brands and speaking to press.

On why RTR is your go-to…
It’s an easy way to have an extensive, rotating wardrobe, without have to spend retail. It also provides the opportunity to experiment with new colors and cuts, which we might not otherwise have had the courage to play around with if we had to buy the dresses.

How TopShelf stays innovative…
At the end of the day, an innovative company starts with a unique vision of one or multiple founders. But to stay innovative, those founders need to bring together the right people to help develop, revise and then execute on a continually evolving vision. TopShelf stays innovative by recruiting leaders and innovators for both the core team and Advisory Board who can bring different perspectives and skillsets to the table.

Secondly, and just as importantly, we stay innovative by staying connected and responding to our customers. TopShelf provides many touch points for our members to give feedback. We want to understand how they respond to our product, what works for them and what doesn’t.

Lastly, it’s crucial to stay at the forefront of other innovations in the retail and startup world. Whether it’s a new release from a data provider or advertiser that allows us to better reach our target market, or another startup with an innovative product that wants to explore a partnership with us, the options are endless.

On RTR and TopShelf Clothes…
TopShelf and RTR are different, but complementary. Both RTR and TopShelf understand the modern woman who wants to find clothes that complement her lifestyle, personal style, current needs and budget, without taking up all her time or money to access them. They both make finding clothes to wear easy and fun!
