Since moving to New York City in July, I have made experiencing Broadway a bit of a habit. As everyone knows, if you are going to see a live production on stage, New York is certainly the place to do it. My top three productions to see this fall, if you have not already had the pleasure to do so, are: The Book of Mormon, Once, and If There Is, I Haven’t Found It Yet. Here are my picks for looking chic at the theatre. In any of these dresses, forget Tony Awards, you’ll be the star of the show!
Book of Mormon
The Ying To The Yang Dress may seem simple, but it is far from it. With its cut out detail on the top, conservative sleeves, and leggy bottom, this dress is the epitome of chic. Made of knit and pleated at the mid-section, this dress is the perfect LBD to sit comfortably in the seats of the Eugene O’Neill theatre. Comfort is key at this production, since the show will no doubt bring uncontrollable laughter. For some extra sparkle, accessorize your LBD with the Althea Green Earrings by Lulu Frost.
Talk about a fantastic musical production. The musical numbers performed in Once are truly outstanding: it did win best musical after all. Since you are attending such an inspiring production, it is essential you look the part. The PB And Jelly Dress is perfect, as it is simple, yet striking with its lavender color. Pair it with the Hammered Squares Necklace by Tuleste Market for an unstoppable look.
If There Is, I Haven’t Found It Yet:
While this Roundabout Theatre Company production is a bit darker than the previous two, it is not to be missed. For one thing, Jake Gyllenhaal takes the stage for the first time since getting swooped off to Hollywood. The play is unique and artistic in its scenery and production, it even rains on stage! Considering Gyllenhaal’s presence, it is obviously important to be looking your best at this production. The Amalfi Coast Sheath will do the trick. It is the perfect dress for fall with its gorgeous blue color and wool knit. Pair it with the Alhambra Bangle by Chamak and some cute, fall boots and you’re ready to go!
