“You must have a lot of nice party dresses for your job,” one man said to me at last night’s annual NYC Asia Society benefit dinner. “No, I just Rent the Runway,” I responded. Read More

Style Awards: Bridal Best

With the launch of Rent the Runway Weddings this week we’ve been swooning over anything and everything bridal. The best jaw dropping moment was when this Style Awards submission hit our inbox. Congrats to Lindsey for winning this week’s Style Awards!   At first she was nervous about renting the Sequin Enchanted Necklace for her July wedding, but was head over heels when it was delivered in perfect condition and pretty packaging. We LOVE that she took a fashion risk and paired it with a fun head piece! Lindsey, you look gorgeous!       If you have an amazing picture of yourself rocking Rent the Runway, send it to ShareRTR@renttherunway.com to see if you win our next Style Awards. Don’t forget to share a bit about the fabulous event you attended- we love to hear your stories! Winners are posted every Friday… good luck! Read More
With so many places to go for the holidays- not to mention all the photos to be taken (eeek!)- we want to make sure you stand out! We racked our brains to answer this question… how would you wear the same dress to three different events? Take a look at what we thought and share how you would’ve worn it.   Mission: Wear the same dress in three different ways for the holidays.   Dress: Laila Azhar Indigo Fireworks Dress       Event 1: Holiday dinner party hosted by Mr. Right's friends   Daria: I’m wearing this dress with black booties, Erickson Beamon Heart of Glass Earrings and Dangerous Liasons Bracelet. It’s a perfect outfit for a dinner party hosted by my beau’s friends! This dress is fitted but understated and the print gives it personality.             Event 2: Photo heavy family dinner   Camille: I wanted to wear something that wasn’t too dressy and that I could dress down a bit. This dress photographs so well and has stretch, so I’m not self conscious about dinner. Try it with the Anton Heunis Vintage Flower Drop Necklace, Chan Luu Silver Gwen Wrap Bracelet, blazer, suede boots and the darkest of Spanx tights to complete your look.             Event 3:  Secret Santa mixer with the girls   Ashelyn: This dress is ideal for the Secret Santa mixer that I’m hosting with my friends. I can run around in it while I’m preparing all of the hors d’oeuvre and take my jacket off when we decide to go out! I paired it with CC Skye Pave Stud Earrings, two CC Skye Pave Pyramid Stud Bracelets, lace up boots and a leather belt and jacket.         Success! Read More

As I sat down to plan outfits for the weekend, I pulled out the triple card stock invitations to review: Rehearsal Friday night (cocktail attire), ceremony on Saturday afternoon (semi-formal!), and a reception later that night (black tie!!).  With loads of new arrivals on Rent the Runway, I felt like a kid at the candy store.   Friday night seemed like the perfect opportunity to try a Preen dress I had been eyeing.  Definitely go a size up with this designer!  It was a warm night for October in NY, so no tights and a pair of high heels and I was on my way!  It was super fun to wear a bright color in a room full of black dresses.  Jessica Rabbit was on the right track… red + ruching = hot!   Tibi’s High Tea Dress was perfectly appropriate and adorable for the ceremony.  I paired it with some micro-fishnet stockings and Tory Burch suede flats for a girlish flair.  Loads of compliments from the highschool pals I ran into after the ceremony… yipppeee!   A few hours later, I was ready to put on my third outfit for the weekend, Temperly London’s stunning Queen of the Nile dress. Amazing beading, wonderful draping, dainty low back, and easy to dance in… love love love this dress.  Who says you have to go long for black-tie?   After a wonderful weekend of wardrobe changes, there's only one question - which dress was best? Check out my pics and tell me which dress you like the most – I can’t decide! -- Chondita   With the bride in Preen Plaza Dress    In the Tibi High Tea Dress running into my high school tennis doubles partner     Feeling festive in Temperley Queen of the Nile Dress  Read More
